Community college/high school collaboration takes many forms, from outreach to underserved populations to large efforts with multiple partners – with the overriding goal of motivating students to prepare for and succeed in higher education.
The Academy of Health Sciences Middle College Program developed byPrince George’s Community College(PGCC) in Maryland is a good example of that. Last month, 92 students in the program’s first graduating class took part in PGCC’s commencement ceremony, the same day they earned a high school diploma.
