This is Who I Am
My name is Francisca StGermain and I’m currently an IB senior at Cape Coral High School. I have always been a pretty shy girl. I always kept to myself and never really made many friends due to my timidness. As I grew older, I did get bullied for the way I looked and that lowered my self-esteem very much because I would actually believe what people would bully me about. Once I entered high school, I still carried that low self-esteem and still didn’t feel as good about myself. But once I entered my junior year of high school, I realized that I shouldn’t let anything or anyone tell me that I’m not a beautiful or good person because I knew that I was. So I built my self-esteem and always reminded myself that no one is ever going to love me more than me because I have to love myself first and always put myself first. With the building of my self-esteem, I gained more friends and started participating in more activities at my school and my church because I wasn’t scared anymore about what people would say and think. I feel now I am in a better place than I ever thought I would be and I’m very proud of myself for being able to gain my strength back as well as not letting my people stop me from being great. I have done better in school and I have focused more on my goals and on what I want to do in the future and how I need to get there. But I have to say that the Futuremakers Program has made an extreme impact on who am I today and how I’ve grown so I would like to thank the people that were always there for me even in my lowest and as well as thank the Futuremakers Program for giving me the opportunity to be part of their program and for the successes I’ve gotten out of it. This is Who I am. I am a daughter, a sister, a leader, worshipper, believer in God, a caring person, a giver, and lastly a Futuremaker.
