FutureMakers Coalition, a leading initiative dedicated to transforming Southwest Florida’s workforce, has been handpicked by CivicLab to join a prestigious three-year national incubator program. This initiative, supported by Ascendium Education Group and ECMC Foundation, is designed to rethink and revitalize rural communities by enhancing education and employment systems.

“FutureMakers Coalition has a successful history of building relationships and working to create lasting change in the communities they serve,” said Amber Fischvogt, director at CivicLab. “We are excited to work with FutureMakers as they continue to focus on strengthening rural higher education and employment opportunities.”

Among a competitive field of applicants, FutureMakers Coalition stood out, showcasing their readiness to spearhead rural redevelopment efforts. As a result, the coalition will collaborate with other innovative communities across the country, including those in Arkansas, California, Indiana, Montana, North Carolina, Ohio and South Carolina.

Kicking off in July 2024, the initiative commenced with a three-day institute where FutureMakers Coalition joined forces with experts to delve into stakeholder engagement and system-building tools. Over the next three years, the coalition will participate in a total of six intensive institutes, receiving cutting-edge training, technical assistance, and financial support to drive system-level strategies that pave the way for stronger education to-employment pathways.
