FutureMakers Coalition consists of community stakeholders focused on improving the quality of life and workforce readiness of citizens in the Southwest Florida (Hendry, Glades, Charlotte, Lee, and Collier counties) region. FutureMakers partners have a shared goal of transforming the workforce by increasing the number of postsecondary degrees, certificates, and other high-quality credentials to 55%. FutureMakers partners span the talent pipeline from “cradle-to-career” and focus on changing systems – policies, practices, and beliefs that are currently resulting in outcomes that do not meet the region’s workforce and economic development needs. Guiding the Coalition’s work are regional action and project teams, aligned along a pathway that supports the future of work and life-long learning:
- Kindergarten Readiness
- Career Support
- Third Grade Reading
- Entrepreneurship Mindset and Ecosystem
- High School Graduation
- Support for Returning Adults
- Post-Secondary Enrollment
- Workforce/Economy and Education
- Alignment and Partnership
- Talent Retention
- Work-Based Learning Experiences
- FAFSA Completion
- Post-Secondary Student Support (Retention and Completion)
The Coalition’s tracks progress with specific, quantifiable metrics. FutureMakers Coalition works at the project, county, and regional levels and identify contributing factors influencing outcomes and work to dissolve problems where they originate.
FutureMakers Coalition is supported by a regional, cross-sector guiding team and a backbone organization (Collaboratory) guiding vision and strategy, supporting aligned activities, establishing shared measurement practices, building public will, advancing policy, and mobilizing funding.
