2024 Workforce Employer Survey

FutureMakers Coalition conducts the Workforce Employer Survey

annually and uses the data to inform its Southwest Florida network, specifically our education partners, about employer needs and opportunities to better work together to ensure the desired qualified workforce is available to the region’s employers.

Free Trainings

FutureMakers has partnered with Cypress Resilience Project to provide free virtual trainings for our region to help build a more resilient workforce. This initiative is supported through the EDA Good Jobs Challenge grant.

  • Vicarious and Secondary Trauma: Sustaining Your Wellbeing as Someone Who Cares – This workshop will explore what happens in the brain when those in helping professions experience vicarious or secondary trauma at their jobs. The conversation will include understanding the impacts of toxic stress and how secondary traumas can affect our well-being. We’ll discuss evidence-based practices to support recovery from vicarious trauma. Sep 10, 1:30-3:00 pm
  • It’s Out of Control!: Building De-escalation Strategies – The world can be stressful, and we may need to calm a situation down to move forward in a productive way. This can happen at home, at work or in the community. This workshop reviews the brain’s stress response and how to de-escalate someone who is activated both remotely and in-person. We’ll focus on verbal and non-verbal communication to convey safety. Sep 18, 10:30-12:00 pm
  • “Self-Care:” Types of Rest Your Brain Needs to Promote Healing – This workshop explores different types of rest the body needs to be well. Explore the repair strategies of the brain that actually work. The workshop includes fillable worksheet so participants create a strategy that works for them as individuals; rather than simply listening to what others tell them they “should” do to feel better. Sep 23, 10:30-12:00 pm
  • What Happens in the Brain During Trauma – In this workshop you will learn a foundational definition of trauma, basic trauma terminology, what happens in the brain when trauma is experienced by an individual, and how trauma and toxic stress are linked to secondary illnesses. The conversation will also explore some main themes in the study of trauma focused on healing and resilience; both for individuals and communities. Oct 2, 1:00-2:30 pm
